Mountainous Republic

Summary
The article examines one of the most interesting problems in the history of relations between the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and the Mountainous Republic. In the article, the author writes about the military aggression of the "Volunteer Army" against the Mountainous Republic and notes that the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic could not provide military assistance to the Mountainous Republic at this difficult time. However, Azerbaijan fought against this occupation with diplomatic methods.
The Mountainous Republic declared its independence in May 1918. After that, this young republic worked to protect its independence and fought against the "Volunteer Army" headed by Denikin.
From the beginning of 1919, the "Volunteer Army" launched a large-scale attack against the Mountainous Republic. In a short period of time, half of the territory of the Mountainous Republic was occupied. The situation of the Mountainous Republic was very critical.
From February 1919, Azerbaijan increased financial assistance to the Mountainous Republic, expanded its diplomatic activity for the defense of this republic. The Republic of Azerbaijan made appeals to various heads of state and their high representatives, the League of Nations, and condemned Denikin's military aggression against the Mountainous Republic.
Azerbaijan's diplomatic activity in this direction continued after May 1919, that is, after the "Volunteer Army" occupied the Mountainous Republic. Unfortunately, the world's leading countries did not respond positively to these attempts of Azerbaijan. They supported General Denikin and his chauvinistic plans, and the Mountainous Republic completely lost its independence.

РЕЗЮМЕ
В статье исследуется одна из самых интересных проблем в истории отношений между Азербайджанской Демократической Республикой и Горской Республикой. В статье автор пишет о военной агрессии «Добровольческой армии» против Горской Республики и отмечает, что в это трудное время Азербайджанская Демократическая Республика не смогла оказать военную помощь Горской Республике. Однако Азербайджан боролся против этой оккупации дипломатическими методами. Горская республика провозгласила свою независимость в мае 1918 года. После этого эта молодая республика занималась укреплением своей независимости, боролась против агрессии «Добровольческой армии», которой командовал Деникин. С начала 1919 года «Добровольческая армия» развернула широкомасштабное наступление на Горскую республику. За короткое время половина территории Горской республики была оккупирована.Положение Горской республики было очень критическим.С февраля 1919 года Азербайджан увеличил финансовую помощь Горской республике, расширил свою дипломатическую деятельность по защите этой республики. Азербайджанская Республика обращается к главам великих государств и их полномочным представителям в Лиге Наций, и осуждал военную агрессию Деникина против Горской республики. Дипломатическая деятельность Азербайджана в этом направлении продолжалась и после мая 1919 года, то есть и после полной оккупации Горской республики «Добровольческой армией». К сожалению, ведущие страны мира отреагировали на все попытки Азербайджана по защите Горской республики негативно: они поддерживали генерала Деникина и его шовинистические планы, и Горская республика полностью потеряла свою независимость.
