THE PROBLEM OF DELIMITATION AND DEMARCATION OF AZERBAIJAN-
ARMENIA BORDERS AND ITS SOLUTIONS

SUMMARY:
Despite the end of the Second Karabakh War, the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border continues to remain tense. One of the points in the tripartite declaration signed at the end of the war concerns the restoration of communication lines in the region. Of course, it is very difficult to implement this clause without the delimitation and demarcation of the borders between Azerbaijan and Armenia. The first step in determining the borders is for the parties to mutually recognize each other's sovereignty and treat this issue with respect. Despite Armenia's recognition of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity, groundless claims made at various times serve to prolong the process of determining the Azerbaijan-Armenia border. In such a case, there is a need for a detailed analysis of diplomatic contacts between Azerbaijan and Armenia, including meetings and opinions voiced by both sides on the issue of delimitation of borders.

ПРОБЛЕМА РАЗДЕЛЕНИЯ И ДЕМАРКАЦИИ АЗЕРБАЙДЖАНО-АРМЯНСКОЙ ГРАНИЦЫ И ЕГО РЕШЕНИЯ

Резюме:
Несмотря на окончание Второй Карабахской войны, ситуация на армяно-азербайджанской границе продолжает оставаться напряженной. Один из пунктов подписанной по итогам войны трехсторонней декларации касается восстановления линий связи в регионе. Конечно, реализовать этот пункт без делимитации и демаркации границ между Азербайджаном и Арменией очень сложно. Первым шагом в определении границ является взаимное признание сторонами суверенитета друг друга и уважительное отношение к этому вопросу. Несмотря на признание Арменией территориальной целостности Азербайджана, необоснованные претензии, выдвигавшиеся в разное время, служат затягиванию процесса определения азербайджано-армянской границы.
